- 14SNB03_spec note 1SNB03_att This solicitation is being posted to Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/. FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet. Please feel free to use the FBO site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational and planning purposes only. This is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ) or a Request for Proposals (RFP). It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division is currently conducting market research to locate qualified, experienced, responsible and interested potential sources to develop 7.62mm Lethal Limited Range Round (L2R2) ammunition within a budget of $200,000 - $450,000. The US Coast Guard is in need of an L2R2 for use in harbor security applications. The objectives for the L2R2 round are identified in the attached Draft Statement of Work and Salient Characteristics. At a minimum, the following information needs to be addressed in response to this RFI: Technical Approach Requirement Compliance Challenges/Trade-Offs Producibility Schedule/Timeline of Development Efforts Potential Cost of Development resulting in delivery of 1,500 Proto-type Cartridges Comments/Suggestions At the current time, NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE for contractual efforts. This request for information does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The US Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed. All interested parties are encouraged to submit company and product literature, white paper, and/or other pertinent information for consideration of the Government by 3:00 PM EST, 20 DEC 2013. Electronic or hard-copy submissions will be reviewed if received by the closing date and time.
