- PURPOSE OF THE DEMONSTRATION: This demonstration will examine the benefit of a medium caliber (30mm) weapons system on a Stryker or LAV III vehicle to increase lethality for Stryker vehicles. The demonstration will coincide with the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE) Spiral I VIP/Senior Leader Seminar 18 February 2014, but is not a sanctioned event of the AEWE. This demonstration is a proof of principle event not an operational evaluation. The Stryker does not currently have an approved medium caliber weapon requirement. The Vendor demonstration and product display are conducted for the sole purpose of demonstrating product capabilities and not for fulfilling mission requirements for an interim time frame. A. Requirements: 1. All cost are the responsibility of the vendor. 2. The vendor is responsible for providing the vehicle and 30mm weapon system (cannon). In addition, the weapon system must be integrated on any version of the Stryker or LAV III vehicle prior to arrival at Ft Benning. 3. Training Cartridges in 30mm x 173mm will be provided by the US Army. 4. The vehicles and weapon system will be vendor operated throughout the demonstration event. 5. Vendors will provide the POC, as listed in C.1, copies of their certification to operate their vehicles and weapon systems. 6. Engagement; weapon system will engage hard surface targets at Coolidge Range, Ft Benning, GA 800-1500 meters. 7. Engagement scenario requires a stationary vehicle to engage stationary targets. 8. Ft Benning will provide a storage facility for the vendor's demonstration during the rehearsal and demonstration. 9. The vendor must submit a Safety Assessment Report (SAR) in accordance with MIL-STD 882E (attached), dated 11 May 2012, prior to arrival NLT 6 December 2014. 10. Vendors must sign the Vendor Demonstration Product Display Agreement (attached) in order to participate in the event. The sponsoring Organization is TCM SBCT. Provide signed agreement to the POC, as listed in C.1, NLT 1 February 2014. 11. Foreign Vendors will complete the Vendor Demonstration Product Display Agreement for Foreign vendors (Contact POC, as listed in C.1, for foreign specific agreements). 12. Vehicles must have a fully functional SINGARS radio installed on the vehicle in order to communicate with range operations. 13. Vehicle must have internal communication capability with gunner and driver. 14. Weapon system must have hard weapon stops to prevent weapon movement outside the designated range limits. 15. All participants are required to wear ear protection and safety shoes (steel tip) or army issue boots. 16. Vendors will drive their vehicles from the motor pool to range and back after the demonstration. 17. Any vendor who does not have an integrated weapon system is welcome to bring a static display or any information about their solution. However, non-vehicle platforms may not fire on the range. 18. The USG reserves the right to refuse admittance of a vendor into the demonstration for safety, security, or non-compliance with the demonstration requirements. B. Agenda: 18 February 2014 0600 - Vehicles will move from motor pool to Coolidge Range. 0800 - Rehearsal will begin at Coolidge Range; MBL will issue ammunition at Coolidge Range and store ammunition after rehearsal. 1300 - Demonstration will start at Coolidge Range. Target Engagements: 1. Vehicles will engage stationary hard targets from 800-1500 meters from a stationary vehicle. 2. Vehicle will fire 3-5 rounds per target for rehearsal and for demonstration on 18 February 2014. 3. Range will open 0600 hours for vendor to get access on their vehicles on 18 February 2014. C. Provide notice of delivery time to POC, as listed in C.1, before 1 February 2014.
