- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Notice that is issued for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. An award will not be made on offers received in response to this notice. This notice is not a Request for Proposal (RFP); it is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability of sources prior to issuing an RFP. The Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center is planning a project to remediate electrical harmonics distortion issues within the facility. The functional objective of this project is the addition of a power meter on the existing medium voltage (MV) switch, and the addition of active filtering on Unit Sub Station 1 (USS 1) to mitigate power quality issues reported during construction of the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center and validated by subsequent testing by others. In advance of the filter installation, power metering of harmonic distortion at USS-1 shall be performed so that the benefits of filtering will be evident after the fact. Finally, it is also the goal of this project to verify that all overcurrent devices are properly set per the original design documents for selective coordination as required by drawings and specifications. The intent of this notice is to identify potential Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms capable of performing these services. The Government will use the information obtained from this sources sought announcement to make a set-aside determination including further restriction under a socio-economic status. The appropriate North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238210 with the applicable business size of $14.0 million. If interested in this opportunity, please provide via email, a one-page synopsis of qualifications and project experience for work providing the type of services identified above. Interested sources should include bonding capacity, business size, and economic status. The points of contact for questions are Shelton Beasley, Contract Specialist (email: shelton.beasley @va.gov) or Mark Miesse, Contract Specialist (email: mark.miesse@va.gov).
