Description
The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Anthem Medical 2111 Stanford Ave St. Paul MN 55105c.. This requirement will include the following characteristics: CIRCA S CATH PROBES-Single Use 10 French and 50cm Working Length. Product Description: CIRCA S-CATH PROBES for the Circa Temperature Monitoring System This temperature monitoring system is a next generation system that greatly increases the safety of our patients during complex atrial fibrillation ablations. The S-CATH probe, which is inserted into the esophagus, has 12 ultra-sensitive temperature sensors. These sensors constantly monitor the internal temperature of the esophagus during radio-frequency ablation thereby preventing one of the most devastating complications of this procedure, left atrial-esophageal fistula. The system sounds an audible tone indicating that the temperature is rising and an alarm if the temperature reaches or exceeds the programmed parameters. Since the esophagus is not visible on X-ray, this device not only monitors the temperature of the esophagus, but also allows the physician to visualize the exact location of the esophagus due to its radiopaque characteristics. Salient Characteristics- o 10 French OD o 12 Integrated Rapid-Response Temperature Sensors o 50ms Refresh Rate (20-times-per-sensor-per-second) o Two-Plane Self-Expanding Radiopaque Design o Straightening Stylet for Insertion and Delivery This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Responses should be sent to Torben.Ohlsson@va.gov Contracting Office Address: Network Contracting Office 1, Northampton VAMC, BLDG 2, RM 133, 421 NORTH MAIN STREET, LEEDS MA 01053-9764
