Description

This is a sources sought notice for information and planning purposes and shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the VA. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify qualified businesses, including Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), small disadvantaged businesses (SDB), Women-owned Small Business (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Business, 8(a) Small Business and small business concerns that are interested in and capable of performing the work described herein. The NAICS code is 541310 and the corresponding size standard is $7.0 Million. Your responses to the sources sought will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. The VA Palo Alto Health Care System has a requirement to hire an Architectural Firm for the renovation of a single story spinal cord injury facility. Comprehensive services to include complete design - including programming, schematic design, construction documents and construction administration. Work will involve the renovation of approximately 51.4K GSF single story spinal cord injury facility. Existing patient beds and toilet rooms, nurse station, equipment storage rooms, offices, research and training rooms are to be renovated. Exterior site improvements may include landscaping and minor site renovations. Interested firms fitting one or more of these Socio-economic categories should send their information by E-mail to megan.barr@va.gov or by fax to 775-785-7964 no later than 3:00 PM Pacific Time December 5, 2013. Information shall include type of socio-economic category (e.g. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Business etc.) firm's full address and DUNS number and, a short, no more than 1 page listing of projects/experience in design of Rehabilitation Centers, preferably Acute Care. AE team shall comprise, but is not limited to, the following professional disciplines: civil, geotechnical, structural, architectural, interior design, medical planning, mechanical/HVAC/ plumbing, Electrical, Fire - Life Safety, Security, IT/data (telecommunications), audio-visual, construction cost estimating, signage/way-finding, and landscaping. NOTE1: Interested firms (prime firm) shall have a working office located within 100 miles of the VA Palo Alto facility. NOTE 2: This sources sought takes the place of the one posted under VA261-14-R-0088, please do not respond to the one for VA261-14-R-0088.
