- Description
- The purpose of amendment 0001 is to provide some additional information in response to some questions received in response to the sources sought announcement. Question 1: In looking over the list of munitions under consideration, would it be possible to get the DODICs for the munitions being considered under each family so we can evaluate the specific rounds that would be included? Answer 1: At this time we are unable to provide a listing of DODICs due to the information not being available yet. Question 2: There is also some inconsistency in the description of the 25mm and 30mm cartridges in the solicitation which states that they are HE filled, and the munitions list indicates that they are depleted uranium. The DU rounds do not have HE filler. Answer 2: The MIDAS code saying DUM for those cartridges is incorrect and the cartridges are HE filled or inert slug rounds, not DU. The table has been corrected. Question 3: Is munitions listing a CBU-88 correct? We find no information for a CBU-88 except for an obscure reference to a CBU-88/B Smokeye which was believed to contain 3 bombs each containing 72 lbs of red phosphorus. Could it possibly be the CBU-89 instead? Answer 3: NO, CBU-88 is not correct. The table has been corrected to show it should be listed as CBU-87A/B and CBU 87B/B. Question 4: Regarding the subject Sources Sought Notice, is this a new requirement or a follow-on effort? If this is a follow-on, would you please provide the incumbent contract information? Answer 4: This is a new requirement. Question 5: Why are there no DPICMs identified in the tabulated listing of munitions? Answer 5: This list was representative of munitions that were being considered to allow the Army to gauge interest in future contract work and that any RFP that may result from this sources sought will contain a more definitive list of actual munitions.
