Description
The NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) will host a Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) on December 17-18 to discuss the transition of the NASAs Evolutionary Xenon Thruster (NEXT) ion propulsion system, and in particular the NEXT Power Processing Unit (PPU), to readiness for implementation on spaceflight missions. NASA is seeking participation from industry organizations with space propulsion product lines that have shared interests in advancing the NEXT propulsion system to flight readiness for both NASA and non-NASA applications. The TIM will consist of: A) presentations on NEXT development history, capabilities, mission applicability, and NASA objectives and requirements for use, B) tours of GRC electric propulsion hardware and facilities, and C) one-on-one meetings with participating industry organizations for discussions of shared interests. An information package will be forwarded to attending organizations in advance of the meeting. NASA GRC is supported on this TIM by two organizations representing Planetary Decadal mission requirements: the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Those interested in attending the TIM should provide the following information to Debra Clevenger (email: Debra.K.Clevenger@nasa.gov, phone: 216-433-5312) by Thursday, December 11: Name Citizenship (confirm U.S. only) Organization Visit duration (one day or both) Request for 1-on-1 Meeting with NASA on 12/18: No or Yes, and how long (1 or 2 hours) For any technical questions regarding this TIM, please contact Scott Benson.
