Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to The Boeing Company for the follow-on production of the Laser sensor (DSU-38) of the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) (GBU-54) for production lots 4-8 for the replenishment of war reserve inventory. This contract will include United States Air Force and Foreign Military Sales customers and the purchase of ancillary equipment. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Unless stated herein, no additional information is available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the LJDAM weapon system and its related equipment. The Boeing Company alone has the experience, special skills, proprietary technical documentation, facilities, and manufacturing techniques required to produce, assemble and integrate this equipment and furnish the supplies and services within the required timeframe. Accordingly, The Boeing Company is the only known qualified, responsible source that can fulfill the requirements specified herein. Subcontracting opportunities may be available and should be sought with Boeing at the following address: The Boeing Company, 6200 JS McDonnell Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63134-1939. Once NAVAIR finalizes its requirements for the subject effort, a prerequisite for receiving contract award will be registration in the DOD's System for Award Management (SAM) database. For more information on SAM, contact SAM Customer Service at 866-606-8220. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contract.
