- The US Forest Service intends to negotiate a sole source contract with AVID Aerospace LLC. This acquisition is being made as a continuation of the Firefighting Aircraft Study to assist the Forest Service in determining the composition of a mix of fixed-wing airtanker and helicopter aviation assets based on supply and demand. AVID Aerospace LLC developed and completed a similar study and report for the Forest Service previously and consequently, it will be more cost effective to allow them to complete the in-progress work. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. Any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representative for consideration for future requirements. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, Forest Service Contracting, 3833 S. Development Ave, Boise ID, 83705, via fax to (208) 387-5384 or via e-mail to jbrandt@fs.fed.us. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Forest Service will proceed with the sole source negotiation with AVID Aerospace LLC.
