- Capabilities Statement High Resolution Stereo PIV System FA8601-14-T-0051-SS This is a Sources Sought Synopsis; there is no solicitation available. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This Sources Sought Synopsis is published for market research purposes. This market research will be used to help determine if this may be a competitive acquisition, or if a set-aside for any small business program is appropriate (Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVO), Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned (EOWOSB) small businesses). Please review this announcement, including all attachments, in their entirety. Request that prospective offerors complete and return a Capabilities Statement to identify firms who possess the capability to provide a High Resolution Stereo PIV System as described below. The Government is in no way obligated to do business with or to enter into any form of contract with any person, firm or other entity that receives or responds to this announcement. The Operational Contracting Branch Base Support Acquisition Section (AFLCMC/PZIOBB) is seeking potential sources, including small business sources. In addition to the information requested in the paragraph below, entitled "Specifications," responding parties must also indicate their size status in relation to the applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The NAICS Code is 334516 with a Size Standard of 500 employees. Also, indicate if you are a manufacturer or provide the name and size of the manufacturer of this product or the product(s) you will be supplying. Specifications: 1. Computer capable of capturing and processing PIV data, configured with a frame grabber capable of acquiring 2 channels and accompanying cables. 2. Precise timing system capable of firing the lasers within a 0.1 nanosecond window. 3. Two cameras capable of capturing at least 4000 by 2670 pixels each at a rate of at least 4.5 images per second. 4. Two 60 mm lenses capable with proper mounting and provided with an F-stop of 2.8 or less. 5. Two optical (notch) filters allowing 532 nm light to pass through while blocking most other wavelengths, mountable on the camera lenses. 6. Software license for entire system. 7. Laser with two separate cavities capable of providing two pulses of duration 9 nanoseconds or less and with complete operator control over the time of separation of the two laser pulses. 8. Computer/software/camera/timing/laser/frame grabber system must be capable of capturing at least 1,000 laser-illuminated full-resolution image pairs per camera within 5 minutes or less. 9. Motorized attenuator to control light emission from the laser. 10. Arm to enclose laser beam as it travels with a 90-degree mirror unit, an entrance module, at least two angle modules, and a variable focus module to control light sheet properties. Arm must be of least 8 feet in total length. 11. Two Scheimflug camera mounts with a 1 meter-long connecting bench must be provided. 12. A calibration target capable of providing a 200 mm by 200 mm and a 60 mm by 60 mm calibration must be provided. 13. Software must be compatible with ‘Dantec Dynamic Studio' software used in current system. 14. Two site visits of at least one day each within the first year must be provided by technical support staff. Interested parties must submit a Specifications sheet for the proposed product. The specifications sheet should contain any information that the interested party feels is relevant.
