Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order to Clontech Laboratories, Inc. (Large Business) Mountain View, CA 94043-1837 on a sole source basis to procure cytokine reagents in the preparation for treatment of patients with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) enrolled in the FDA approved clinical protocols at the Department of Transfusion Medicine. According to protocol 12C0112, the investigational new drug only allows for the cytokines from Clontech Laboratories, Inc as it prohibits the substitution of any reagent/process named in the original protocol submission. These cytokines are used to treat a patient with SCID. In order to improve the transduction of the CD34+ cells with the vector which corrects the gene deficiency, the CD34+ cells are stimulated with cytokines and growth factors including RetroNectin, IL3, Thrombopoietin (TPO), stem cells factor (SCF) and Flt-3 ligand. Without these cytokines, it is not possible to correct the patient's CD34+ cells and the patient cannot be treated as outlined in the protocol. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Ivan Jones, Contract Specialist, ivan.jones@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
