- Description
- Local Capacity Development Sources Sought Notice Sources Sought Notice This is a Sources Sought notice. This is not a request for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. It is a survey to identify potential sources. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is performing this market survey to determine if an adequate number of organizations are interested in and capable of implementing and managing a project aimed at providing organizational development capacity training to local Zambian civil society and private sector organizations for the purpose of making them competitive for obtaining direct USAID or other rigorously reviewed donor funding. Purpose/Objective USAID is working closely with many Zambian organizations, and would like to expand the number of Zambian organizations able to receive direct funding from USAID. Project Requirements There are two main areas for the local capacity development program: 1. Provide appropriate organizational development training to local Zambian organizations in the areas of governance, human resource management, administration, financial management, project management, and other areas through group modules to USAID sub-partners and organizations that are currently not partners with USAID but that work within the sectors of interest to USAID (health, education, democracy and governance, and economic growth). 2. Provide limited individual assistance/consultancies to local Zambian organizations to improve their capacity in key targeted areas of operation for short periods of time (one to two months). Anticipated Period and Place of Performance The anticipated period of performance is for three years (2014-2017) for a total estimated amount of US$2,500,000 to US$3,500,000 subject to funds availability. The project will be implemented in Zambia by a local Zambian organization. Submission Guidelines Interested organizations should submit a statement addressing the following points: § Capacity of your organization to perform the work described above § Description of past clients (governmental, non-governmental) § Suggest the geographic areas the project should focus and provide a rationale for the selected area Statements sent in response to this Sources Sought notice should not exceed three (3) single-sided pages (including attachments and charts) using an 11-point font size minimum. Send the statements electronically in Microsoft Word or Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) by Friday, December 20, 2013 at 17:00 local Zambia time to: Charles Nyanoka Acquisition and Assistance Specialist USAID/Zambia oaa-solicit-lusaka@usaid.gov
