Description
The purpose of this amendment is to revise the NAICS code and Primary Product/Service Code as follows: FROM: NAICS code 923110, Administration of Education Programs TO: NAICS code 541620, Environmental Consulting Services. FROM: Primary Product / Service Code U009 - EDUCATION/TRAINING-GENERAL TO: Primary Product / Service Code F999 - OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES All other Pre-solicitation information remains the same. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541620, Environmental Consulting Services. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 intends to issue a solicitation to complete sustainability projects under a sustainability internship program. The purpose of the intended procurement is to progress towards achievement of clean energy and climate change goals in Hawaii. The anticipated procurement shall use Simplified Acquisition Procedures under Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and hence shall be under the simplified acquisition threshold of $150,000. A separate request for quote solicitation and other information related to this procurement will be posted on, or about, December 23, 2013. Under the EPA Region 9 Hawaii Strategic Plan, the Air Division has clean energy and climate change goals. One of the priority goals is to help create a clean energy economy, achieving 70% clean energy by 2030. EPA also supports green workforce development and this procurement supports achieving EPA's goals through part-time, paid sustainability internship assistance. Past sustainability internships have been administered by the RISE program: www.risehi.org. For more details regarding the nature of the work, see the DRAFT version of the Statement of Work (SOW). The purchase order will be awarded and administered by Region 9, located in San Francisco, CA and Hawaii. The EPA expects to award the purchase order in January 2014 with a period of performance for one year. The purchase order is anticipated to be a firm fixed-price type order.
