Cafeteria Floor Plan Written Announcement of GAO's Cafeteria and Event Support Industry Day CAFETERIA AND EVENT SUPPORT SERVICES INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT PURPOSE: The purpose of this announcement is to notify Industry that the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) plans to hold an Industry Day for cafeteria and event support services in support of GAO's Headquarter cafeteria operations. GOAL: The goal of the Industry Day is to foster networking and exchange information between Government and Industry pertaining to a number of items, including but not limited to: foodservice industry trends, food service operations, event/catering services, consumer spending, etc. in order to assist GAO with identifying and determining the capability and availability of commercial sources with full cafeteria service and formal event support service experience. The Government will share with the contractor community, the following: GAO Cafeteria Floor Plan BACKGROUND: GAO is a government facility that houses approximately 2700 staff members. The staff is comprised of GAO, Department of Justice and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Most staff has flexible schedules in which they have one or two days off per pay period or have the option to telework one or more days per pay period. There is a cafeteria located on the first floor which specializes in hot entrees, sandwiches, grab and go meals, a salad bar, and hot and cold beverages. The café is open for breakfast, AM breaks, Lunch and PM breaks. GAO has approximately 150 meetings per fiscal year that require catering services such as continental breakfasts, lunches, and receptions. The Contractor shall establish and operate the food service facilities described for the purpose of dispensing food, nonalcoholic beverages and such other items. The Contractor shall also perform Event Support Services generally on the 7th floor of the GAO building, specifically in the Comptroller General suite of offices which include executive offices, a reception area, a kitchen, two dining rooms, and three conference rooms. On rare occasions the contractor will support events in other places within and outside the GAO building. LOCATION: GAO's Industry Day will be held at: United States Government Accountability Office 441 G Street, NW Washington, DC 20548 DATE: GAO's Industry Day will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, December 17-19, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only. Please plan to come 15 minutes before your scheduled time in order to be cleared through security. REGISTRATION: Space is limited and registration will be required to attend. Contractors are requested to notify the individual listed below by e-mail. Contractors are limited to no more than five (5) company representatives to attend the Industry Day. Please submit the date and time you are requesting (1 st and 2 nd choice), your firm's name, and the company representative(s), who will attend the site visit NO LATER THAN MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2013. THIS INFORMATION IS REQUIRED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES AND GAINING ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING. Point of Contact: Deja E. Craddock Contract Specialist E-mail: craddockd@gao.gov *In the subject of your email, please indicate "GAO Industry Day Appointment" All visitors entering GAO facilities must undergo security screening, and are subject to search. Visitors must enter through the G Street Pedestrian Entrance Points. Visitors must provide the Receptionist or Security Officer at the access point with a valid picture ID*, (e.g., driver's license, DoD CAC, etc.), purpose of visit, GAO point of contact, and, if known, destination in the building. All visitors must pass through a magnetometer and have their belongings scanned through an x-ray machine. Other methods of screening, such as hand-held metal detection devices and physical or visual inspection may also be used. NOTE : Visitors who cannot present a valid picture ID will not be admitted to the GAO building unescorted, unless otherwise approved by the Director, OS or designated representative. AGENDA: Each firm scheduled will have a total of one (1) hour to present company capabilities, brochures, briefings, etc, and respond to question & answer session. LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION: Both Large and Small Businesses are encouraged to participate in the Industry Day, since information provided in this Session will be beneficial for future procurement actions. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This announcement is not intended to guarantee procurement of any services, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. Companies are advised that subcontracting/consulting/teaming arrangements are acceptable. The Government is not liable for costs associated with the preparation and submittal of material in response to this Industry Day announcement and will not reimburse any firm for costs incurred in responding to this announcement.
