Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 260 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, New Jersey 07724 intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the renewal of a comprehensive pharmacy drug database and associated decision support tools from First Databank. The TAC intends to award a sole source, 12-month Firm-Fixed-Price contract with two 12-month option periods and optional tasks to First Databank, 500 E. 96th Street, Suite 500, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46240, pursuant to authority 41 U.S.C 3304(a)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." The proposed solicitation number for this effort is VA118-14-Q-0042. There is no place of performance for this acquisition as this is a software renewal. This acquisition will provide enterprise wide pharmacy support for VA, Veterans Health Administration, Pharmacy Service, and Indian Health Services. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 511140 with a corresponding small business size standard of 500 employees. The estimated date of award for this action is January 17, 2014. This notification shall close on December 18, 2013. This is a notification of intent, not a request for proposals.
