- The US Coast Guard seeks information for a Senior System Programmer for analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting of IBM hardware and software. The legacy piece of the system operates in a z/OS mainframe environment. The legacy applications are written in LE COBOL and access VSAM files. Knowledge of IBM z/OS C++, COBOL for z/OS, EZTRIEVE-CA, MAXDATA-CA, PLUSPACK-SEAz/OS Assembler, ISPF PDF, JCL, z/OS utilities, HCD, Hardware Management Console, DS8000 Storage manager on SMC, CLI on SMC, and DS6000 ICAT. Networking Environment is Comm Server z/OS. The environment for legacy applications is an IBM Z890. This is for informational purposes ONLY and shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the United States Coast Guard. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The US Coast Guard is seeking information only. Responses to this Request for Information shall be emailed to Sharon.A.Doerk@uscg.mil by 5:00 pm EST Monday, January 13, 2014. Responses shall be limited to a PDF document not more than two (2) pages, single spaced. At this time, phone calls and personal appearances are discouraged. Again, this is not a request for proposal.
