- NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SEEKING SMALL BUSINESSES (Please see attached document for details). SOURCES SOUGHT: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. The Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to determine the interest and capability of any firm eligible to compete under NAICS code 334511 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 Employees for an upcoming requirement for the USGS, Reston Acquisition Branch for the purchase of Seismic Sonar Bubble Gun/Pulsed System THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. Submission is voluntary. This requirement is for the Salient Characteristics: Features: Low frequency acoustical signals provide signal penetration vertically through sans, sediments and tills yielding superior sub-bottom profiler mapping capabilities. Ability to record the raw data, including the entire ping record. Recording in standard SEG-Y format allowing compatibility with other processing programs. System must be of small size and portability make it easy to deploy and use on almost any size marine survey platform. Narrow Band 70 - 700Hz (100Hz peak) pulse provide bottom penetration through many sediment types Electromechanical / contained Air Source type Single plate source level of +200 dB reference of 1 Pa @ 1 meter with a plate of 15 cubic inch volume Lightweight source plate / platform provides stable operations in adverse sea state conditions weighing under 100 lbs. and measuring less than 45 inches x 40 inches x 30 inches Buoyant surface tow vehicle comprised of stainless steel frame and dual flotation devices 50 meter abrasion resistant tow / electronics cable weighing less than 30 lbs. Seismic Transceiver: Designed for HMS-620 Hydrophone with 7 pin Amphenol connector Gain adjustable in 3 dB steps 0 45 dB Adjustable high and low pass active filters +/- 10 V output Hydrophone Streamer Cable: 7 meter active section of 24 elements with 50 m leader Integral Preamp with 20 dB gain, designed for HMS-620 Power input supplied by HMS-620 Transceiver Weight less than 35 lbs.
