- Special Notice This is posted as notification that the Forest Service has entered into a sole-source award under the authority of FAR 16.505(b)(2): "Only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized. This announcement is published for informational purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. Request for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. Any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement. Companies that can provide an equal item must submit their technical capabilities to include complete and detailed specifications. This information will be reviewed by the Government technical representative for consideration for future requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Forest Service. USDA Forest Service intends to award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 16.505(b) (2): "Only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized.; for the procurement and delivery of Daniels Non-commercial power repeaters, to the Klamath National Forest to replace and upgrade existing Daniels repeaters that are not P25 compliant. The Government intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for this requirement, to Daniels Electronics Ltd dba Codan Radio, 43 Erie Street, Victoria British Columbia, Canada V8V 1P8. Daniels Electronics Ltd has the technical expertise in order to fulfill this requirement for this delivery order. They are the only known manufacturer of Daniels Electronic products being offered of the DHS TacCom IDIQ Contract.
