- In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System 3.2.2.4, this announcement is to inform all interested parties of the FAA's decision to contract via single-source procedures. The FAA intends to award a contract to Schneider Electric of Palatine, IL. This contract will run for 18 months with one six month option. This contract will commence on or about February 15, 2014 and have a ceiling of $9,600,000. The FAA has a continuing need for standardized Electrical Distribution Equipment (EDE), for renovation of existing Air Traffic Control sites and the construction of new ones. Additionally, the EDE supplier must fully support the FAA ™s Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) system and provide technical training. These supplies and services were provided by the Schneider Corporation (formerly Square D) under Contract # DTFAAC-04-D-00130, which expired on September 30, 2013. Presently, Schneider Electric is the only contractor equipped to provide these supplies and services. This contract will serve as a bridge to satisfy the FAA ™s immediate needs until a contractor can be selected for a long term contract based upon a full and open competition. A Request for Information (RFI) for the full and open competition will be released in the first quarter of 2014 and an award is anticipated in early 2015. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. This announcement is for informational purposes only, and is not a Screening Information Request (SIR) or request for a proposal of any kind. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement.
