Description

DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OF WORK: AUTHORIZED TRAINED CONTRACTORS ONLY Provide labor, materials and equipment to do semiannual combustion tune ups on Three (3)-D-34 water tube cleaver Brooks steam boilers, one (1)-CB-250 Fire tube boiler. Two boilers will be tested at a time, two (2) Boilers in the spring of the year and two (2) boilers in the fall of the year. Testing will be done on natural gas and #2 oil for each boiler. Combustion testing will be conducted up and down the firing cam. Starting at low fire, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of firing cam. O2 calibration on each boiler Control will be required before testing. Contactor will tune boilers to the highs efficiency possible. All work will be performed on business hours 8am to 4:30pm. Contactor will provide a trained technician and will require calibrated combustion testing equipment. Upon completion of required testing contractor will provide a report/spreadsheet to the V.A. Medical Center showing the following readings for Natl. gas and #2 oil and will include cam position/firing rate, gas and oil pressures, boiler model and serial number, date and time, O-2 reading, CO-2, CO-ppm. Nox-ppm, NO-ppm, NO2-ppm, Stack temperature, room temperature, Combustion efficiency and any safety issues. The boiler plant shall be left in the same clean condition as existed prior to the start of work. The solicitation notice should be posted within the next two days with a response date of January 22, 2014.
