The work will be completed at the Contractors facility. The Government will lift the hollow jet valve and place it on the Contractors transport vehicle, when the reconditioned valve is returned to site, the Government will remove it from the vehicle and reinstall the valve. The valve is one of five valves that regulate discharge from the dam. It was installed in 1951 and has not had any significant reconditioning since it was installed. The valve weighs approximately 63,000 pounds and measures 8 feet-11 inches long with a diameter of 10 feet-four inches. The principle components of work are: 1.Transport the valve from Anderson Ranch Dam to contractors machine shop. 2.Disassemble hollow jet valve. 3.Condition assessment and precise measurement of all stationary and moving parts, including the valve body bores and fits, stationary seal seat, needle support, needle, all replaceable bronze seals, seat rings, compression rings, bronze bushings, mechanical gear drive train components, and fasteners. 4.Record and report all pre-existing measurements and in consultation with the Government, shall perform the repair and replacement of all parts listed above and further specified below. 5.Prepare surfaces, and recoat all internal wetted part before reassembling the valve, reassemble the complete valve, and perform surface prep, cavitation repair, and coating of all exterior and waterway passages with the coating system required by specifications. 6.Final testing of the valve shall include a dry operational test of the needle travel, and a hydro test of valve seal under the equivalent pressure of 125 percent of maximum reservoir head. 7.Transport the valve from the contractors machine shop back to Anderson Ranch Dam. The anticipated evaluation factors will be Past Performance and Price with Past Performance weighted significantly higher than Price. The Government reserves the right to revise the evaluation criteria. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) associated with this procurement is 332710.
