- The Purpose of this synopsis is to locate sources interested in becoming approved sources of supply for the following Item: Circuit Card Assembly NSN 5998-01-338-0587 PR 0051048152. Purchased in accordance with currently approved source Navcom Defense Electronics Inc. cage 57057 P/N 8030005531-2 Firm fixed contract anticipated for a quantity of 95 each. AMSC C. This part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity in order to maintain the quality of the part. Existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge by the qualified source(s) require acquisition of the part from the approved source(s). The approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government, and the data or knowledge is essential to maintaining the quality of the part. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The qualification procedures must be approved by the Government engineering activity having jurisdiction over the part in the intended application. Sources who are interested in becoming an approved source will be required to submit appropriate data per the requirements of DLAD 52.217-9002, Conditions for Evaluations and Acceptance of Offers for Part numbered Items. This item is considered commercial under the FAR 2.101 definition, however, ESA approval for a commercial equivalent from a source other than the currently approved source is required in order to assure all required functions of the headset are provided. Interested parties should send letter of interest to the contracting officer, Ruth A Smith via email at ruth.smith.dla.mil by JANUARY 13, 2014. THE INITIAL POSTING STATED JANUARY 13, 2013 IN ERROR. The response should include information as to product line; quality certifications; company size and appropriate POC information. The company will then be placed on the bidders list so that notification can be sent when the solicitation is available.
