- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Internet2 (I2) for membership dues and network participation. I2 is the only entity that can allow membership into I2 network. I2 is an exceptional community of U.S. and international leaders in research, academia, industry and government who create and collaborate via innovative technologies. Participation to I2 has enabled TFHRC to a unique communication gateway to collaborate and better conduct our research projects. There is no known entity in the world, but Internet2 that is capable of providing such powerful communication capability to the research communities. All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This requirement is a Simplified Acquisition, pursuant to Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, and will be awarded at an amount under the Simplified Acquisition commercial threshold, (currently set at $6.5 million). The total estimated value is not to exceed $269,000; the anticipated award date is January 31, 2014. All interested parties shall submit a description of their firm's capabilities for satisfying this requirement, which demonstrates they possess the ability to successfully perform this effort.
