- SLSDC Drawing No. SLS-370-159 for Miter Gate Ring Springs This is a Request for Information (RFI) for a Miter Gate Spring Set for the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) in Massena, New York. Please provide information on capability, availability, delivery/lead time ARO, and estimated prices and freight charges for the following: - Miter Gate Ring Spring Set, heat treated after fabrication, consists of 28 elements: 2 end springs, 13 internal and 14 external springs, per the attached SLSDC Drawing No. SLS-370-159, dated 09/23/99.* - Optional : Additional Miter Gate Ring Spring Set. Option to remain valid for 180 days from date of forthcoming Request for Quote. * The two end springs each are one half of an internal spring element, so taken together they become the equivalent of one internal spring element, which when added to the other 13 internal springs and the 14 externals, you have 28 elements. The term "28 elements" refers more to the length classification of the spring than the exact number of pieces making up the spring. There are 29 pieces but only 28 elements.
