- Description
- The following questions have been received regarding this solicitation: 1.Q: Will the Government accept parts with a Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA)? A: As the fuel pump is a Critical Safety Item, no PMA parts will be accepted by the Government. If a contractor wishes to submit a separate Source Approval Request (SAR) package citing PMA parts, that package can be sent to: AFSC/SB Attn: Joe Roop 3001 Staff Drive, Ste 1AG85A Tinker AFB, OK 73145 joe.roop@us.af.mil However, please be advised that award will not be delayed pending approval of qualification. 2.Q: Does the Government know how many of the 115 fuel pumps will be marked with part number 708400-1, -2, and -3? A: No, the Government does not know what the split of the 115 fuel pumps will be among the three part numbers. 3.Q: Are the fuel pumps sent for remanufacture at regular intervals or only after being damaged in the theater? A: The assets are sent for remanufacture at regular intervals. 4.Q: Can the Government clarify the statement in the Statement of Work 1.2.2, "serialized military parts shall not be co-mingled with or replaced by remanufactured/reconditioned commercial parts?" A: The Government is aware that the F108 engine and this fuel pump exist in the commercial world; however, the Government will only accept military parts for the remanufacture, no commercial parts. 5.Q: Can the Government clarify the difference between "overhaul" and "remanufacture?" A: Overhaul is a service for the restoration of an item to a completely serviceable condition as prescribed by maintenance serviceability standards. The goal is to extend the life of the asset. A remanufacture will include the teardown of an asset to its basic components and insert new parts to make the asset a "like new" condition.
