Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, Eastern Acquisition Division-Kansas City (EAD-KC) and the National Weather Service (NWS) intend to award a purchase order for supplies that support the Dual Pole System. This requirement is to obtain RDA Interface Unit Assemblies for NEXRAD Sub Systems for stock replenishment spares that support the NEXRAD program. Baron Services is the designer and manufacturer of the Dual Pole System and is the only known responsible source for these parts. Item No. 0001: Circuit Card Assembly, RS-232 to RS-422 Multiplexer, P/N BS-2000-056-000; Qty: 10 ea; Item No. 0002: Circuit Card Assembly, RDAIU IF Switch Control (DT), P/N BS-2000-057-000; Qty: 5 ea; Item No. 0003: RDA Interface Unit Assembly, P/N BS-2000-055-000; Qty: 4 ea; Item No. 0004: RDA Interface Unit Assembly, Redundant (A40), P/N BS-2000-055-001; Qty: 4 ea. These items are being purchased for the National Weather Service (NWS), NEXRAD program, to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The unique characteristics and physical form of these items make them the only acceptable parts. Because the design is the intellectual property of Baron Services, the Government does not have access to the specific design features. The Government has no design rights to the items and does not possess the drawings that specify the parts. The proposed contract action was issued as a sources sought notice that was posted on FedBizOpps under Solicitation No. NWWG01401400559KC on December 24, 2013, that resulted in only one response to the notice. An award will be issued to Baron Services, Inc.
