Description

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Qiagen for DNeasy 96 blood tissue kits, and Multiplex PCR Kits. These specific kits are sold exclusively from Qiagen and can only be purchased from their company. The use of these kits are required to maintain data integrity in the research data sets to keep our research data consistent. These kits are intended to be used exclusively on both the Governments Corbett CAS1820 robot and the Qiagen QIACube HT robot for DNA purification. These genetic reaction kits and reagents have been thoroughly tested and the government has standardized experiments using these kits for high-throughput genotyping for Salmon and Alaska forage fish. The standardized DNA isolation supplies for both the Corbett CAS1820 DNA extractor robot and the Qiagen QIACube HT robot are made and sold exclusively by Qiagen for these machines. It is the government's intent to do a base with two options for additional quantity within a one year period. This Notice of Intent is not a Request for Quotes. This notice of intent is for information purposes only, therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. All sources eligible to provide this supply must respond in writing, response must be supported by clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide products outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
