- Contracting Office Address P.O. Box 190022, North Charleston SC 29419-9022 Description Request for Information (RFI) The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Innovation and Discovery Competency (71000) is seeking information on organizations, study results, and/or software for meta-physical modeling of controlled detonations of high energy (explosive) events (HEE) in fully open (both ends open) or semi-open (1-side open) tubes or wave guides. This capability and/or data should include modeling of the detonation thermodynamics and kinematics; pressure wavefront development and extended time history throughout detonation in (semi-)open waveguides, free space travel and subsequent interaction with reflective, absorptive, or dispersive surfaces. Application areas of this knowledge would be in better understanding, controlling, and mitigating consequences of HEE or equivalent material detonation in waveguide-like structures such as piping, conduits, ducting, etc. DUE: February 10, 2014 Submittals Submittal should include company/institution information, capabilities, experience with HEE and dynamic event modeling, and the methodology utilized. The technical point of contact is Curtis White at curtis.d.white1@navy.mil. Please provide documentation packages to Mr. White via the US Army's ARMDEC SAFE transfer site (https://safe.amrdec.army.mil/SAFE2/). Acceptable submission formats include Microsoft Word, PDF, or other appropriate format. Large (> 5Mb) data packages will not accepted by Navy email. ARMDEC SAFE is certified to FOUO and will accept data file transfers up to 2 GB total and 25 files per transaction. Multiple SAFE submissions are acceptable as well as a single compressed ZIP file for multiple document packages. Documentation packages should be appropriately marked for distribution/dissemination rights (i.e., FOUO, etc.). DVDs and/or CDs of free software may be mailed to the following address: Curtis White SPAWARSYSCEN-LANT/SAT 414 E. Mulberry Ave. San Antonio, TX 78212 All submissions should be provided no later than 12:00 PM CST, 10 February 2014. Technical questions, issues, etc. may be directed to Mr. White via email. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government DOES NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
