Description
Contracting Office Address P.O. Box 190022, North Charleston SC 29419-9022 Description Request for Information (RFI) The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Innovation and Discovery Competency (71000) is seeking information on existing or emerging Government off the Shelf (GOTS), or Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) devices providing inherently safe, long-term energy storage (i.e., batteries or equivalent). These devices should have the following salient capabilities: a) inherently safe (non-explosive under any (mis-)use, or environmental conditions), b) capable of operating in closed potentially explosive environments, c) capable of repetitive high (dis-)charge rates with potential 100% duty cycles, d) capable of long-term (years) inactivity with near-instantaneous maximum capability discharge, e) applicable to low-energy source recharge (i.e., waste heat, solar, etc.) and f) sufficiently high energy density to meet various size, weight, and power requirements. Potential application areas are remote area undeveloped and/or contingency ISR sensor and/or communication systems for Force Protection, Emergency and Natural Disaster response, etc. DUE: February 10, 2014 Submittals Submittal should include company name, company POC, whether you are a reseller or manufacturer, product name, part number (if applicable), along with a description of the system technology. The technical point of contact is Curtis White at curtis.d.white1@navy.mil. Please provide documentation packages to Mr. White via the US Army's ARMDEC SAFE transfer site (https://safe.amrdec.army.mil/SAFE2/). Acceptable submission formats include Microsoft Word, PDF, or other appropriate format. Large (> 5Mb) data packages will not accepted by Navy email. ARMDEC SAFE is certified to FOUO and will accept data file transfers up to 2 GB total and 25 files per transaction. Multiple SAFE submissions are acceptable as well as a single compressed ZIP file for multiple document packages. Documentation packages should be appropriately marked for distribution/dissemination rights (i.e., FOUO, etc.). DVDs and/or CDs of free software may be mailed to the following address: Curtis White SPAWARSYSCEN-LANT/SAT 414 E. Mulberry Ave. San Antonio, TX 78212 All submissions should be provided no later than 12:00 PM CST, 10 February 2014. Technical questions, issues, etc. may be directed to Mr. White via email. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government DOES NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
