Description
The purpose of this amendment/modification is to perform the following: A.Change the response date from January 13, 2014 at 3:00pm (EST) to February 5, 2014 at 3:00pm (EST) B.Delete the "Project Description" Section of the original notice in its entirety and replace with the following: PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The CHP (Combined Heat and Power) Plant will consist of a natural gas fired turbine generator whose exhaust gas is used to heat a 2.7 MMBtu/hr heat recovery heat exchanger. The hot water from the heat exchanger will supplement the HVAC reheat demand in building 170. During periods of low hot water demand at B170, the hot water will be used to power a 160 ton absorption chiller which will be used to supplement the generation of chilled water at building 170. A cooling tower will also be required for the absorption chiller. The turbine will have electrical capability of approximately 760 kW and will be connected to the existing switchgear in building 169, where the electricity will be used to reduce the energy received from the utility company. CHP includes heat recovery and generator controls; power metering, data acquisition, computer control equipment; power utility interconnection equipment, including but not limited to: transformers, switchgear, and protective relays; computer control software; and associated ancillary materials and equipment, site civil work, paving, concrete foundations, building structures and permanent steel platforms, stairs, handrail and ladders. The CHP will supplement the normal power needs for the facility but will not be used for the emergency power generation. Utility power must be available for the CHP to operate. The CHP Plant will be located in a new Building 118 with architectural features to blend in with the surrounding buildings. A new underground duct-bank will be installed to accommodate electric utility interface requirements. Additional underground insulated piping will be extended from the building 118 to building 170 for the hot and chilled water supply and return lines. The proposed system shall be able to provide operator initiated automatic start-up and shutdown of the system, but shall also include provisions for automatic start-up and shut-down based upon other inputs such as utility power interruptions. Full system commissioning is also included to ensure the system is optimized to operate as efficiently as possible. New electric and gas meters will be connected and integrated into the existing advanced metering systems. The services for this project will include providing all construction related services including: providing labor, materials and equipment required to complete the project as per contract documents prepared by an independent Architect-Engineer firm. -ALL OTHER TERMS AND INSTRUCTIONS REMAIN UNCHANGED-
