- This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intent to exercise FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services under contract N00421-13-C-0007. The modification will be issued on a sole source basis to PAE Applied Technologies, LLC, (PAE) 6500 West Freeway, Ste 600, Fort Worth, TX 76116-2118 for the continuance of uninterrupted technical and engineering services to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Atlantic Test Range (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) divisions while the follow-on requirement is being competed. This modification will cover up to an additional six months of support. Due to the ongoing nature of the projects currently being performed under the contract, and the need to continue these services, PAE is the only practical source for providing the necessary continuation of services until award of the competitive follow-on contract. PAE is the sole source capable of providing these efforts without creating an impact on the fielded systems, project schedules, operations and operational readiness that would be caused by a break in services. It is unrealistic, from a technical and contractual perspective, to expect any other potential source to provide continued services for this short period of performance prior to the competitive contract being awarded. Because of the nature of this requirement, and the impracticality and substatial costs the Government would incur and not recover through competition, this will be procured on a sole source basis. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
