Dawson Creek Dr. Hillsboro, Oregon 97124-5793 for a maintenance contract for the The products herein are being procured in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures as authorized by FAR Part 13.106-1 (b) (1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 811219 and the business size standard in 500. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract. It has been determined that there is no opportunity to acquire green products or services under this procurement. Period of Performance: One year from the time of award. The Laboratory of Cell Biology (LCB) studies the processing, transport, and metabolism of proteins and small molecules related to malignant transformation and multidrug resistance in cancer. The principal investigators of the laboratory, who are experts in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, structural biology, cellular regulation of cell growth and metabolism, resistance to anticancer drugs, and pigment formation, work on research projects related to those topics. The LCB Molecular Cell Genetics Section studies the molecular basis of anticancer drug resistance, while the Transport Biochemistry Section investigates the biochemistry of energy-dependent transporters. The Pigment Cell Biology Section studies mechanisms involved in the regulation of melanin synthesis and photoprotection. The contractor shall be able to provide all labor, material and equipment to provide preventive maintenance for government-owned Titan Krios Electron Microscope, Serial Number D3211, manufactured by FEI Company. All maintenance services shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard commercial maintenance practices. There are no known third party companies which can provide onsite parts and service engineers. FEI is the only known provider of replacement parts. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party, especially a small business, believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a proposal. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. The proposal must be received at the NCI Office of Acquisitions on or before 11:00 AM EST on February 5, 2014. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
