- Description
- The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to award a sole source contract to Alfred Williams and Company, 410 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. The EPA intends to award this under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". The subject contract will provide storage, repair, maintenance, and removal of furniture throughout the EPA's Research Triangle Park Main Campus Facilities A through E, National Computer Center (NCC), A-Annex Wing, High Bay Building, Human Studies Facility (HSF Chapel Hill) in addition to the Research Toxicology Facility (RTF Bldg) located at 2525 East NC Hwy 54, Durham, NC 27713. The contractor will maintain real-time inventory and provide a web-based inventory database with EPA read-only access. The period of performance is expected to be from a base year of April 1, 2014 through March 31, 2015 with 4 Option Periods. The U.S. EPA believes that Alfred Williams and Company is the only company that can provide repair and maintenance to ALL of the existing furniture in our RTP facility because they are the only authorized dealer for all the furniture lines owned or leased at the EPA (Kimball Office, Davis Furniture, Geiger, Herman Miller, Hickory Business Furniture and Krueger International.) This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. It is a notice that outlines the Government's intent to contract on a sole source basis with Alfred Williams. However, sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit detailed technical capabilities, show that they are authorized dealers for the above listed furniture manufacturers, state their business size, and any other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the needs of the Government. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Responses shall be limited to no more than two (2) pages. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information re ceived will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals but is displaying the Government's intent to pursue a sole source strategy for this acquisition. If no affirmative responses are received by February 10, 2014 to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Alfred Williams and Company. Submit your response to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, RTP Procurement Operations Division (Mail Code: E105-02), Attn: Kimberly Keith-Thompson, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711 or e-mail Keith-Thompson.Kimberly@epa.gov
