Description

Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with American Medical Depot for Stryker FDA approved lithium ion interchangeable battery powered surgical equipment located at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, IL while providing minimal interruption to patient care. This announcement is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. American Medical Depot is the sole distributor of Stryker surgical equipment and the only vendor who is capable of providing the equipment that is compatible with the existing surgical equipment currently in place at the facility. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by February 10, 2014 by 3:00PM (CST). Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement. All interest received on or before February 10, 2014 will be evaluated by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored.
