Description
Sole Source (Brand Name) Documentation Additional Applicable Provisions & Clauses The DLA Distribution Acquisition Operations Directorate intends to solicit, negotiate and issue a sole source (brand name) purchase order to Smiths Detection, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b). The solicitation number is SP3300-14-Q-0042. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334519, and the size standard is 500 employees. The proposed contract action is for the HazMatID TM Elite, a critical supply item for which the office of Emergency Services at DLA Installation Support, Susquehanna, PA, has an immediate and specific need for chemical identification, that will only be satisfied by this product. Smith Detection, the manufacturer of the item, is the only known source. Sole source documentation is acknowledged at attachment #2 to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all quotes received prior to the close date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Wide Area Work Flow : As of October 15, 2012, DLA Distribution Acquisition Operations began using the Department of Defense Wide Area WorkFlow (WAWF) Receipt and Acceptance system to process invoice and acceptance documents. WAWF is a free, paperless application, which eliminates time and expenses of mail processing. It is also a secure method of invoicing. With on-line validation, contractors can monitor acceptance and payment documents for accuracy, which means fewer rejected invoices and fewer delayed payments.
