Description
The Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis a requirement for the Navy to participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) student programs, career fairs, and competitions. STEM education has been acknowledged by the Secretary of the Navy as mission critical and through student programs, career fairs, and competitions seeks to build awareness among students at grades 4-12, pre-college, and college. The Navy also seeks to attract, develop, and retain high quality students with diverse backgrounds and from underrepresented locales. This procurement is being processed under Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996 - a sole source acquisition under the authority of the test program for certain commercial items, as implemented by FAR 13.501(a). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Patriot's Technology Training Center (PTTC) on a sole source basis for this requirement. PTTC is the premier African American pre-college initiative organization representing 1,500 minority youth members. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by the specified response date. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider information received by the specified response date. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement action based upon responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to this notice. The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) code and size standard for this acquisition are 541820 and $14M, respectively.
