Description
The Buffalo VA Medical Center (hereafter "The VA" or "VA") has a requirement for Sound Booth Retrofit and Installation the Buffalo VA Medical Center located at 3495 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215. This is a one time retrofit and installation project. Contractor must be willing to work with a flexible schedule to coincide with construction renovations. The current installation need is estimated to be early May 2014. This work includes but is not limited to the following: Contractor (Vendor) shall be responsible for the complete project including, but not limited to, the installation and final testing of the room and the associated components, including all preparations, equipment, and ancillaries necessary for delivery to the VA Western NY HealthCare System (VAWNYHS), 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo New York 14215. Contractor (Vendor) shall provide all means necessary to store and deliver equipment to the area(s) in which the equipment is to be installed. The contractor (Vendor) shall disassemble; reassemble/retrofit one existing double wall sound booth, remove panels, re-assemble the double wall suite, perform an OBA (octave band analysis), setup audiometer and calibrate the sound field. Contractor (Vendor) shall provide services to disassemble and package a single wall booth and move the warehouse to be turn-in. The retrofit booth must be compatible with the existing new booths and associated equipment, match existing raise floor heights; length and width of the retro fit booth are to remain the same. Booth(s) area to be mounted directly to the existing floor with receiver and gasket material. Renovation Contractor has provided a raised floor for access to the patient sound booth(s). The sound booth contractor (Vendor) must match the existing raised floor height. There shall not be tripping hazard upon entering or leaving the sound booth(s) for the patients or staff. Retrofit booth flooring shall match existing newly installed sound booths floor height and raise floor plus or minus 1/8". Field verify. The contractor shall attend meetings with the VA's Consultant, COR and Renovate Contractor to discuss any unsuitable conditions or missing items. After the site visit, the contractor (Vendor) shall submit shop drawings for the retrofit of the existing sound booth for approval. Contractor (Vendor) shall submit a schedule as to when the retrofit of the existing booth will occur. Contractor (Vendor) shall attend (minimum of three) construction meetings with the Renovate Contractor and COR as schedule for planning delivery of sound booths. Contractor (Vendor) shall ensure all dimensions are accurate. The Contractor (Vendor) will provide penetration for quick Response Sprinkler Heads for each compartment with exterior system isolation and single point of connection to facility system. The Contractor (Vendor) will provide additional penetrations if required for the renovation contractor to make final connections. All connections shall be on the roof top. Contractor (Vendor) shall disassemble the existing double wall sound booth and reassemble the double wall and perform an OBA (octave band analysis, setup audiometer and calibrate the sound field). The double wall existing sound booth shall be retrofitted; door shall be relocated from end of the control room booth to the right side of the clinician booth, inside door shall be remove and the window place in the center of the panel. Provide and install nurse call/panic alarm switches that are OEM certified compatible to interface with the existing the Rauland System V Nurse Call system. The Contractor (Vendor) shall install additional receptacles in each compartment, provide packaged air conditioning silencers for connection(s) to building HVAC systems, replace insulation as needed, and replace flooring with sound impact vinyl sheet flooring color selected by VA. Installation shall include all mounting and gaskets required as necessary for a proper installation. The sound booth contractor will be required to return to the site prior to the activation of sound booth(s) to perform final testing and provide a complete set of operator/service manuals. The VA shall approve all submittals before retro fitting (construction) starts. The VA intends to release this as a competitive request for quotes (RFQ) on February 4th, 2014. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 423450, "Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers." Site visits are strongly encourage during the open solicitation period. Unless additional notice is given or this notice is modified, the full RFQ will be posted to the Government-wide Point of Entry (www.fbo.gov). This is a pre-solicitation notice synopsizing an upcoming competitive solicitation to satisfy the requirements of FAR 5.201 and 5.203.
