Description
Sources Sought The Food and Drug Administration is conducting market research to assess the availability of small business firms as defined by NAICS code 812320 to provide lab coats and laundry service to the Center of Veterinary Medicine, in Laurel, MD as detailed in the requirement section below. This Sources Sought is to determine the availability and capability of a small business, (i.e.: certified 8a, small disadvantage, HUB Zone one firms, veteran owned small business and woman owned small businesses). This information is being sought for information and planning purpose only and shall not be construed as an Invitation for Bids, a Request for Proposals, Solicitation or Request for Quotes, or an indication the Government will contract for the items or services herein. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this notice. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any cost associated with submission of the information being requested or reimburse expenses incurred to interested parties for responses to the sources sought. Any response received will not be used as a proposal. All capability statements are due 15 days from the date of publication by e-mail to Janice.Heard@fda.hhs.gov **THERE WILL BE NO QUESTION/ANSWER PERIOD** No phone calls will be accepted. Requirement: The laboratory at the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Office of Research, requires the rental of lab coats and laundry services that meet the following requirements: •Lab coats must be embroidered, or contain a patch that is embroidered, with the employee's first and last name. •Coats must be white in color and embroidered font must be Royal Blue or Navy Blue in color. •Construction: Coat must include left breast pocket, two lower pockets, and have color matched buttons. •Lab Coats and Cleaning services must comply with OSHA standards for use in a laboratory setting for employees that engage in work with animals, bench work involving a wide spectrum of chemicals and animal related surgical procedures. Hazards may include animal allergens, zoonotic agents, blood and bodily fluids, pathogens, hazardous chemicals and/or drugs and radioactive materials. •Contractor is to propose how many pickups and deliveries they will make per week and how many garments are required to meet CVM's needs. CVM has a current need for lab coats for 60 employees with 3 lab coats each, however this may vary. For proposal purposes, please use 75 employees with the understanding that the awarded amount may come in less. •Contractor is required to supply temporary lab coats for new employees within one week of request by CVM and embroidered lab coats within 3 weeks of request by CVM. •Contractor is responsible for initial sizing for staff, size changes, and inspection during laundry services, repairs of lab coats, and replacements if needed. •Contractor is to provide tracking documents upon each pickup and delivery. The tracking sheets must be signed by designated personnel before contractor departs; otherwise the contractor will assume responsibility for any discrepancies or missing garments. •Contractor is to pick up dirty linens and deliver clean linens during visit. CVM's location is on a secure property and vehicle is subject to search by security. Contractor will need to make delivery/pickups during normal business hours 7:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday unless the government or location is closed (Federal Holidays) Respondents should supply: *Business name, DUNS number, business address, business website, business size status (i.e., SB, VOSB, SDVOSB, HUBZone SB, SDB, WOSB, LB), point of contact name, mailing address (if different from business address), phone number and email address; *Sufficient descriptive literature that unequivocally demonstrates that offered products and services meet or exceed above specifications. *All descriptive material necessary for the government to determine whether the product offered meets the technical requirements including: technical specifications, descriptive material, literature, brochures and other information, which demonstrates the capabilities of the contractor to meet the requirement. Indicate whether the organization is the manufacturer of the items or authorized reseller. If reseller, include the manufacturer's name, address and DUNS number. *If applicable, identification of the firm's GSA Schedule contract(s) by Schedule number and SINs that are applicable to this potential requirement are also requested.
