- Description
- The scope of this project is to remove the existing pilings, seven (7) each, and replace with seven (7) new, marine pressure treated pilings that are 12-14 inches in diameter and forty-five feet in length, capped with a white heavy duty polyethylene cap. The existing pilings will need to be removed from site and properly disposed of. Each new piling is to be driven fifteen feet into the existing quote mark ground line quote mark of the river bottom slope. The project also includes the installation of two (2) new pile holders, one identical in size to the existing pile holders, and firmly affixed to the side of the floating dock identical to the manner all other typical pile holders are affixed to the floating dock. The second pile holder, located at the east end of the dock, is affixed differently than the typical pile holders. This pile holder has broken off and will need to be replaced. It is the contractor's responsibility to come up with the best solution for the fix. A contractor site visit can be coordinated through USACE to evaluate the existing dock. In addition, this project includes the replacement of one (1) new board, marine pressure treated 10 quote mark x 12 quote mark x 3 quote mark pine board at the east end of the floating dock. This also includes mobilization and demobilization of all the necessary equipment to complete the project. This equipment should include everything necessary to remove and install timber pilings in a marine environment. For example, a crane barge, crane, and pile hammer. Water jetting is not permitted as a pile installation method.
