SOLE SOURCE J&A FEB 2014 J - MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND REBUILDING OF EQUIPMENT NAICS 541380 Subject: PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND CALIBRATION OF CHANT PROOF TEST MACHINES The Marine Corps Logistics Command, Contracts Department (S1924) intends to solicit and contract with Chant Engineering Co., Inc. (CAGE 7K419) of New Britain, PA. on a sole source basis for annual on-site preventative maintenance and servicing of government owned Chant Proof Test Machines aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base, Yermo Annex - Barstow, CA 92311. See attached Justification and Approval. The Government physically does not have in its possession sufficient data, or the rights to same data, for the diagnostics analysis, software updates, and calibration of the machines. Any source able to provide the diagnostic analysis, software updates, and maintenance expertise may contact the person(s) indicated above to be considered a responsible source. No solicitation will be posted via this portal for the requirement. CLIN 0001 - Annual on-site preventative maintenance and servicing of government owned Chant Proof Test Machines. Chant Model 9182-01 150,000 lb (1ea) and Chant Model 9273-01 10,000 lb (1ea). Period of performance - February 2014 thru January 2015. CLIN 1001 - (Optional) Period of performance - February 2015 thru January 2016. CLIN 2001 - (Optional) Period of performance - February 2016 thru January 2017. CLIN 3001 - (Optional) Period of performance - February 2017 thru January 2018. CLIN 4001 - (Optional) Period of performance - February 2018 thru January 2019. Award Procedures - The Government will solicit a Firm-Fixed-Price contract with a base and four option years for commercial services with an estimated total under the simplified acquisition threshold. The anticipated award date is 18 February 2014.
