Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 04 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 6.5" PIN STANDARD FEMALE CLEVIS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide the following questions and answers for additional clarification: Question = Q Answer = A Q1: The note indicates the female thread for a 6.5 diameter clevis should be 6 8 UN-2B thru. Should the female thread meet those dimensions?. A1: Yes, the 6-8 thread is correct for the 6.5 pin clevis.Dimensions on the drawing are correct. Q2: Will the cylinder rod and clevis connect to each other ? A2: Response - There is a 750K load cell between the cylinder rod and clevis, and also a 7 to 6 thread adapter between the load cell and clevis. Q3: The 0.380" Radius (two places), a larger Radius is more desirable from a machining stand point, as well as strengthening the part too. Is there any possibility of opening up these two Radii to 0.500" or larger? A3: No Q4: Is an extension on the Response Date possible? Extra time will ensure vendors give NASA the best possible bid. A4: Yes the response date has been extended from 2-10 to 2-12 (2 day extension) Q5: Are progress payments possible ? A5: Acceptance of the clevises requires NASA proof test and inspection, thus deliverables will have to pass inspections prior to payment. Progress payments are not possible. Q6: The Solicitation heading identifies the item as a 6.5 pin standard female clevis. Please clarify ? A6: The procurement is not for pins, it is for clevises. The clevis receives a 6.5 pin. NASA is procuring the pin separately. Q7: The documents deals with these pins as commercial items. No packaging or shipping instructions other that FOB destination to 35812 are apparent.Clause 52.247-34 is included by reference 52.247-34, however no other packaging requirements are listed. The IAW commercial pack std. ASTM-D-3951-10 states that anything over 300 pounds has to be in a crate. How many items can we put in a crate? In some places it references either/or. Can items be bulk packaged ? Is there a maximum weight? A7:. We generally receive clevises banded onto pallets. Each 6.5 clevises will weigh a few hundred pounds, so maybe 4-6 per pallet. They need to be kept out of the weather during shipping. Q8: Does MSFC have a NSN number for this item ? A8:. There is no NSN, they are not off-the-shelf parts. They need to be fabricated per the provided drawing. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to February 12, 2014. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on [ENTER DATE].
