Description
The U.S. Department of Labor is soliciting offers from qualified construction contractors that have the qualifications and experience for the construction of a new LEED Silver Certified cafeteria at the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center. This is a two-phase project. Phase 1 will consist of the construction of a new cafeteria building totaling approximately 16,500 gross square feet. This work will include miscellaneous site improvements in the form of general landscaping, service yard, entry road, parking, drainage, connection to all utility lines and site/security lighting for the new building. Phase 2 will require the demolition of the existing 20,130 gross square foot cafeteria building. The demolition of the existing cafeteria will include the removal of hazardous materials, underground storage tank removal, and removal of the existing service yard. The restoration of the site with topsoil, seed and landscaping is also required. A fourteen-day transition period between the completion of Phase I and the start of Phase 2 is included in the project to allow the center operator to vacate the existing cafeteria building and transition to the new cafeteria building. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Plans and specifications will be made available at a later date. This is a 100% small business set aside acquisition under NAICS Code 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. Please note: A prospective offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), prior to contract award. Additional information and instructions for registration can be obtained through the following website: www.sam.gov.
