Proposed Vendor questions GAO HQ Building Floor Plan Industry Day Announcement (Word Version) Security Service Contract INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT PURPOSE: The purpose of this announcement is to notify Industry that the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) plans to hold an Industry Day for security services in support of GAO's Headquarter armed security service operations. GOAL: The goal of the Industry Day is to foster an exchange of information between Government and Industry pertaining to a number of items, including but not limited to: security force management and staffing; administer the access control system and monitor closed-circuit television and alarm activities; detect and deter safety/security hazards, unauthorized, illegal, or potentially life threatening activities; perform receptionist services, parking administration, visitor management, and other administrative security services. The Government will share with the contractor community, the following: GAO Building Floor Plan Draft Statement of Work Proposed Questions for Vendors The GAO Building Floor Plan and Proposed Questions for Vendors are attached. GAO anticipates providing the Draft Statement of Work via FedBizOpps by Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Vendors should be prepared to address the Proposed Questions during their one-on-one meeting. BACKGROUND: The GAO Headquarters building is a 1.8 million square foot, 10 story office building with 7 stories dedicated to office space, one story containing industrial and mechanical equipment and 2 stories below ground for underground parking. The GAO building is a Level IV Federal facility which occupies the majority of a full city block and has approximately 4,000 occupants. The current security contract supports 20 security positions/posts, a Captain of the Guard, and a Project Manager. All 20 security position/posts and the Captain of the guard are armed. The contract also has 4 administrative positions, responsible for manning the Parking/Identification and the Office of Security Customer Service Desk. The security contract also employs two unarmed Alarm Monitor Dispatch Officers per 8 hour shift. LOCATION: GAO's Industry Day will be held at: United States Government Accountability Office 441 G Street, NW Washington, DC 20548 DATE: GAO's Industry Day will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 4-6, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only. No appointments will be scheduled from 12:00pm-1:00pm to allow for a lunch break. Please plan to come 15 minutes before your scheduled time in order to process and clear through security. REGISTRATION: Space is limited so registration is required to attend. Walk ‐ ins will not be permitted. Registration is limited to five (5) representatives from each organization attending the Industry Day. GAO will reply via e ‐ mail with the registration confirmation. All expenses associated with attendance will be the responsibility of the participant(s). Interested parties are requested to notify the following individual by e-mail: Point of Contact: Deja E. Please submit the date and time you are requesting (1 st and 2 nd choice), your firm's name, and the company representative(s), who will be in attendance, NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2014. THIS INFORMATION IS REQUIRED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES AND GAINING ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING. *In the subject of your email, please indicate "GAO INDUSTRY DAY APPOINTMENT" All visitors entering GAO facilities must undergo security screening, and are subject to search. Visitors must enter through the G Street Pedestrian Entrance Points. Visitors must provide the Receptionist or Security Officer at the access point with a valid picture ID*, (e.g., driver's license, DoD CAC, etc.), purpose of visit, GAO point of contact, and, if known, destination in the building. All visitors must pass through a magnetometer and have their belongings scanned through an x-ray machine. Security personnel may also use other methods of screening, such as hand-held metal detection devices and/or physical or visual inspections. NOTE : Visitors who cannot present a valid picture ID will not be admitted to the GAO building unescorted, unless otherwise approved by the Director, OS or designated representative. AGENDA: Each firm scheduled will have a total of one (1) hour to present company capabilities, brochures, briefings, etc, and respond to the proposed questions attached to this notice. LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION: Both Large and Small Businesses are encouraged to participate in the Industry Day. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This announcement is not intended to guarantee procurement of any services, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contract. Companies are advised that subcontracting/consulting/teaming arrangements are acceptable. This announcement is not a request for proposal, a promise to contract or a commitment of any kind. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any vendor for travel, marketing efforts or data offered for examination. Therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct or indirect charge to the Government. Any questions submitted by interested parties attending the Industry Day will be addressed in a subsequent post via the Federal Business Opportunities. After Industry Day, GAO will accept questions until March 14, 2014. All questions, comments, and Government responses will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website on a non-attribution basis. Until further notice all updates and announcements related to this procurement will be communicated via the Federal Business Opportunities website (https://www.fbo.gov/) which is used to post this announcement.
