Description
Description of Work Fort Randall Units 7 and 8 Oil Filled Cable Replacement The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking information regarding capability and availability of potential small business contractors to perform work to replace the existing high pressure fluid filled (HPFF) pipe cable system with a new high pressure gas filled (HPFG) nitrogen system. There are eight pipe cable circuits that comprise four feeders, in which two circuits are connected in parallel by bus that is exterior to the cable pipe system. The oil filled cable runs through a pipe tunnel connecting the powerhouse to the switchyard. Additional detail for work is as follows: The following tasks will be considered basic to the contract and will be performed upon award of the contract. 1. Based on the Government's preliminary design, provide the design details, calculations, and installation drawings necessary to complete the design and to document the installation of the replacement HPGF nitrogen cable pipe system. 2.Provide a new HPGF controller unit complete with pumps, tank, and controls, suitable for running all four feeders in 200psi nitrogen. 3. Replace existing HPFF Feeder quote mark D quote mark with new HPGF Feeder quote mark D quote mark, complete with nitrogen, 10 quote mark NPS steel cable pipe, two 4000kcmil HPGF copper cables with paper-based insulation per phase, quote mark pothead quote mark terminations of the cable to existing bus, modifications to the existing pothead enclosures, RTD's and wiring, and header piping connection to the HPGF controller unit. 4. Provide the services of the pipe cable manufacturer's erecting engineer throughout installation and commissioning. 5. Provide Operations and Maintenance Manuals, as-constructed drawings, and training for Government personnel on the new HPGF system control unit and appurtenances, and as-constructed drawings on Feeder quote mark D quote mark. There is optional work in the contract that is similar to the work detailed above. Duration of construction is estimated to be 2 years. All interested, responsive and responsible contractors are encouraged to participate in this market research by submitting a response via e-mail to david.w.neal@usace.army.mil no later than 2:00 PM CST 25 February 2014. Responses should include the company name, address, contact name and title, phone number, e-mail address, business size and classification/certification under NAICS Code 237130, CAGE Code, DUNS Number, your bonding capacity (single and aggregate) and a list of your company's three (3) most recent projects of the same type described in this notice. Recent project information should include project number with title/description, name of the government agency or non-government client for which the work was performed, the agency/client point of contact (name, phone number and e-mail address) and whether you participated as the prime contractor or as a subcontractor. This notice does not constitute a request for a formal proposal. This notice is provided as information to the market place and is an invitation for an expression of interest and brief demonstration of qualifications to perform and deliver the anticipated requirement.
