Description
This is an announcement for a virtual vendor day in accordance with FAR 15.201(c)(1). This is not a solicitation for quote. As such, unsolicited proposals,of any other kind will be not be entertained. No offers will be considered in response to this vendor day and there will be no contract award resulting from this vendor day. There will be no reimbursement for any costs associated with providing information in response to this vendor day or follow-up information requests. The purpose of this vendor day is to gain knowledge of potentially qualified manufacturers and their ability to meet the minimum technical requirements for Surgical Endoscope Forceps. Surgical Endoscope Forceps include GI Colonoscopy Biopsy, GI Gastroscopy Biopsy, and Pulmonary Biopsy. Should a decision be made to pursue this acquisition, it is anticipated that the result of this market research will assist the Government in determining the acquisition strategy, as well as the method of procurement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) is issuing this announcement as a means of conducting market research to identify qualified contractors with the capability and the resources to meet the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requirement for Surgical Endoscope Forceps. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide delivery of Surgical Endoscope Forceps: GI Colonoscopy Biopsy, GI Gastroscopy Biopsy, and Pulmonary Biopsy to VA facilities located in the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Guam. EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION/SERVICE: Each vendor must be able to comply with the Minimum Technical Requirement (MTR) for the Surgical Endoscope Forceps listed. The VA is interested in finding out if interested vendors can provide one or more of the items listed below, as well as to determine if the VA's MTRs are in line with industry standards. MTRs are included below. VIRTUAL VENDOR DAY: The virtual vendor day will occur Tuesday 25 February 2014 at 11:00 EST+DST (New York). Interested Vendors are to send an email to Jaime.friedel@va.gov by close of business Tuesday 18 February 2014. Ms. Friedel will confirm receipt of the email and send back the VANT line and code to use for the virtual vendor day. Representatives of the VA will go over the current MTRs and solicit feedback regarding the following questions. 1.Do you provide latex coated and non - coated cables on all types of forceps? 2.Do you provide forceps with needle/spike and without needle/spike on all types of forceps? 3.Do you provide forceps with serrated/alligator jaws and smooth jaws on all types of forceps? 4.Do you have literature you can provide to us related to durability, ie: number of times handle can open and close without breakage or decreased function? 5.Number of times the cups can open and close maintaining good tissue retrieval? 6.Does the cable bend/coil without kinking or limiting the cup's capability to open? 7.Data on tissue retrieval, such as proof of tissue integrity with biopsy? 8.Can your company provide all types of biopsy forceps listed? 9.Can your company provide a nationwide supply of the forceps listed without delay on orders? This is not a commercial solicitation. The Government will not pay for any information, or for any costs associated with providing the information.
