Content of Table THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS "SOURCES S0UGHT" REQUEST. ANY RESPONSE TO THIS RFI/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT AS MARKET RESEARCH, FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. The General Services Administration located in Washington DC, is looking for qualified vendors capable of performing the work as listed below. BACKGROUND The GSA Steam Distribution Complex supplies 250-psi saturated steam to numerous Government buildings for heating and other utility purposes. The Stanchions are utilized as support structures for the steam distribution system. Due to the harsh conditions to which these stanchions are exponsed as well as their age within the system many are in poor condition or are in total disrepair. Some modifications have been made to stanchions to extend their lifetime within the system and simply need cleaning and rust protection applied, however a majority are unsuitable for modifications and must be replaced. Theses stansion are the main structures for piping support, and while a failure of a stanchion does not result in an immediate disaster, the resulting strain placed upon the remaing stanchions can result in additional failures, eventually leadingg to pipe failures DESCRIPTION OF WORK The contractor shall furnish all of the necessary equipment, labor, supplies, and supervision to replace expansion joints in the GSA Steam Distribution system. Work is to be performed in the C Steet SW tunnel in the District of Columbia. The contractor shall remove the existing expansion joints, and furnish and install new expansion joints of the same size (see Table). The expansion joints shall be of the packed single-travel, slip design, constructed of A106 seamless carbon steel, with beveled weld ends and an integral A36 stell anchor base. The stuffing box shall have integral internal and external guide surfaces, which shall have a minimum designpressure rating of 300 psig, a minimum design temperature rating of 500 degrees F, and travel length of 8 inches. The wall thickness of each expansion joint shall be th same as the existing piping in that size (see Table). The recommeded expansion joint is the ATS Thermal Pak TP2W-132 model or government approved equivalent. If a trap assembly needs to be removed and replaced, all new piping and connections for the trap assembly shall consist of schedule 80 carbon steel. The contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing expansion joints and insulation. Estimated Term of Services : Services are to be provided for a period of 120 days. NAICS Code : 238220 Estimated Constructions Price Range : $200,000 and $400,000. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT, SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A FORMAL SOLICITATION. INFORMATION IS TO BE PROVIDED ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT COSTS INCURRED BY THE VENDOR IN PREPARING OR SUBMITTIG THIS VOLUNTARY INFORMATION.
