Description

On or about 6 March 2014, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the RUNWAY - BUTTS ARMY AIRFIED, PN 77885, FORT CARSON, COLORADO. The solicitation will close on or about 22 April 2014. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 25 March 2014. Site visits may be requested. Provisions in the solicitation documents will provide points of contact, access requirements and other pertinent information. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. Project Description: This is a Fully-Designed Project. Construction work for the project includes pavement removals, runway repairs - milling and asphalt overlays and crack sealing, new concrete pavement for taxiways with helipads and helipads, hot-mix asphalt runway and taxiway shoulders, associated pavement base courses and pavement sub-drainage systems and surface runoff storm drainage system, new taxiway and runway edge lights, helipad lights, airfield signs and markers, new PAPIs and new wind cones, and waterline. Work will be constructed in two phases and will require site coordination with other projects. There are approximately 2200 Cubic Yards of concrete paving, 12,200 Tons of hot-mix asphalt paving, 52,000 cubic yards earthwork cut and 34,000 cubic yards earthwork fill. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $10,000,000 and $15,000,000.
