Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of Marine and Aviation Operations is acquiring dockside ship repair services from Vanport Marine, Inc., located at 2711 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland, OR 97211 via GSA Schedule 03FAC. In accordance with FAR Part 8.4, the Government issued a Solicitation on eBuy (RFQ849075) for "NOAA Fairweather Dockside Ship Repairs (Winter 2014)." This was conducted as a small business set-aside. The resulting solicitation included open market line items incidental to the overall acquisition. In accordance with FAR 8.402(f), this posting serves as public notice of the Government's intent to issue a Federal Supply task order to Vanport Marine, Inc. under GSA Contract GS-21F-186AA that includes open market line items for the following: pipe, pipe fitting, gases, welding rods, hazardous material containment and disposal, gaskets, miscellaneous hardware and consumables, paint, structural steel, and miscellaneous subcontractor services. The CO has made a reasonable determination that the inclusion of these line items on the task order best satisfies the needs of the Government. Additionally, a fair and reasonable determination was made for the open market portion of this task. The aforementioned ship repair work requires completion by March 21, 2014, and the vessel is scheduled to depart Newport, OR to commence hydrographic survey operations shortly thereafter. This Notice of Intent is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes.
