- Packaging Requirement Soliciation The Government intends to award a five-year IDIQ contract (basic plus four options) for new spares buy of the Digital Interface Assembly (DIA), a component of the Bomb Release Unit (BRU)-57 Smart Bomb Rack, to support sustainment of the USAF F-16 aircraft. These assets are being procured as USAF and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Spares. NSN : 5998-01-522-7603GG Reference Number : MT57M1190-2 Dimensions : 10" LENGTH 5" WIDTH 1" HEIGHT 2 lbs. Material of Manufacture : Solid state components and aluminum case Function : Provides firing pulse to release stores from 14 inch rack. Quantities: Basic year: Basic Qty. 8 EA; Options: 4 Out-year Options of 1-5 EA The RFP is being issued on a SOLE SOURCE basis to EDO Corporation, Cage Code 82340, due to a lack of manufacturing/technical data to provide to any other source. Solicitation is expected to be issued approximately 19 Feb 2014 with response due 21 Mar 2014. Delivery is 12 months ARO to SW3119. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The RFP will be posted at www.fedbizopps.gov. NO TECHNICAL DATA AVAILABLE. OMBUDSMAN All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO identified above for additional information and or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. If your concerns are not satisfied by the contacting officer, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear serious concerns that are not resolved through established channels. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate serious contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals in the source selection process.
