Description

INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office (NCO 6), intends to enter into a sole source procurement with Intuitive Surgical, 1266 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086. The purchase is for a full service contract on da Vinci surgical robot equipment located at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. A base + 3 option year contract is being anticipated. Intuitive Surgical is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the da Vinci equipment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 811219, Size Standard: $19.0 M, and the Classification code is J065. The proposed contract action is for service for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This notice of Intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can meet this requirement are to submit information to: Dori Dabbs, Contract Specialist, at dori.dabbs2@va.gov by 10:00 AM EST on February 26, 2014 Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
